We inform our kind Customers that, due to the national and international emergency situation linked to the mitigation of the spread of the contagion from COVID-19, some passenger transport conditions may undergo changes aimed at ensuring the best protection of Passengers (i) in compliance with the provisions urgent legal requirements issued by the Authorities; authorities, (ii) trying to maintain, as far as possible, the continuity of the of shipping service. GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR THE TRANSPORT OF PASSENGERS, THEIR BAGGAGE AND ACCOMPANIED VEHICLES.
The purchase of the ticket implies the unconditional acceptance by the Passenger for all legal effects of the following general conditions of passenger transport (CGTP). DEFINITIONS: With the term “Passenger” means each person transported on the basis of the passage ticket issued by the carrier and/or by the relevant agencies; authorized. With the term “vector” and/or “Company” means Grandi Navi Veloci SpA “Object” of the contract is the transport service as governed by articles 396 and following of the Navigation Code. The carrier undertakes to carry the passenger and the accompanying vehicle under the following conditions which the Passenger undertakes to examine and observe in full before purchasing and/or booking the passage ticket. Art. 1 VALIDITY: the ticket is valid; personal, it is not; transferable and is valid only for the carriage specified therein. The Passenger is required to diligently keep the contract/ticket to justify one's right to travel and to show it to any Officer of the Ship or officer of the Company; who requested it. The Passenger without a ticket must immediately notify the Captain and/or the Purser on board. Failing that, it will be required to pay double the price of passage to the port of destination, without prejudice to compensation for the related damages.

Art.4 PRESENTATION FOR BOARDING: (i) national and EU travel - the time established for check-in is 11:00 am. within two hours before the ship’s scheduled departure time for Passengers with accompanying vehicles, while for Passengers without accompanying vehicles it is necessary; of an hour; (ii) extra journeys -Schengen - the established check-in time is: within four hours before the scheduled departure time of the ship for Passengers with and without accompanying vehicles. Presentation beyond these terms will result in denial of boarding. The Passenger who has checked in must have the right to do so. remain inside the boarding area, until you actually board the ship, as you are not allowed to leave this area. Art. 5 FAILED DEPARTURE: Passengers who do not show up within the time indicated above for check-in, or who in any case fail to board the ship provided for and indicated on the boarding pass, are not entitled to a refund, even partial, of the price paid and indeed must complete the payment of the passage price if he had not paid it in full. Art. 6 WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND: withdrawals must be communicated by the Passenger to the Company; directly or through the travel agency in the terms indicated below and with the application of the following penalties: from the time of booking up to 20 days before departure 25%; from 19 days up to 4 days before departure 30%; from 3 days up to 2 hours before departure 50%. Tickets purchased in presale are non-refundable. The aforesaid deductions apply to the total fares for Passengers, vehicles booked and related surcharges and taxes. The date and time of the cancellation must be noted on the ticket by the Company. or by the travel agency that issued the ticket. The calculation of the terms starts from the day following the cancellation date and includes the departure date. Possibility to buy in mode; Presale by anticipating a lower amount, reduced from 20% to 10% of the total ticket (minimum €50.00). Presale cannot be accepted. be modified or canceled and failure to confirm departure will result in the loss of the amount paid. Possibility to buy in mode; Presale by anticipating a lower amount, reduced from 20% to 10% of the total ticket (minimum €50.00). Presale cannot be accepted. be modified or canceled and failure to confirm departure will result in the loss of the amount paid. The application of the gratuity of the cancellation penalties will be charged; carried out only if the presale purchase will be completed. paid within the term of validity; of the period of validity of the gratuity; cancellation penalties; the final ticket cancellation policies are subject to the General Conditions of Passenger Transport in force on the date of conversion. 6.2 The conditions referred to in paragraph 6.1 may be extended and/or modified upon notification in the dedicated section of the website www.gnv.it/it/prenota-sereno/safe.
Art. 7 VARIATIONS: In the event of variations to the ticket, no change will be required. pay a fixed fee, but only the possible adjustment of taxes and bunker surcharge, i.e. the amount that will be paid. fixed and published in advance and any fare differences if the change involves a higher fare than the original one: the replacement of the ticket involves the application of a fee (i) of € 30.00 on lines from/to Morocco, on lines from/to Genoa-Barcelona, Genoa-Tunis, Civitavecchia-Tunis, and on the Palermo-Tunis line and (ii) €25 on Italian national cabotage lines (eg Genoa -Palermo, Genoa-Porto Torres, Genoa-Olbia, Civitavecchia-Palermo/Termini Imerese, Civitavecchia-Olbia, Naples-Palermo/Termini Imerese); ticket replacement fees are not applied for the lines from Bari to Durres and from Valencia/Barcelona to the Balearic Islands. Tickets issued at a special round-trip rate (return) can only be changed at the same time by charging the fixed fees on both tickets. No changes are allowed while check-in is in progress. For all tickets issued under particular and/or special conditions, there is no charge. no changes allowed. Any variation of the ticket issued does not give right to reimbursement, while it is due the payment of the difference between the ticket subject to change if the change involves accommodation and/or a higher price. Tickets can be changed by accessing the website www.gnv.it, the Contact Center and through an authorized travel agency. Tickets purchased in presale cannot be modified unless converted into a final ticket and the related payment in full.
Art. 8 ADVANCED/DELAY OF DEPARTURE OR ARRIVALS - CANCELLATION OF DEPARTURES - CHANGES TO ITINERARY: the Passenger is required to ascertain, before departure, that there have been no changes relating to the timetable shown on the ticket. The Company, for the cases provided for by the Navigation Code and for the cases of objective necessity, and/or force majeure, has the right to to cancel the announced departure, to add or omit stopovers; to start the voyage from a port other than the established one, to assign the ship to another line, to anticipate or delay the departure date, to replace the ship that will make the change; transport. If the Passenger is re-protected on a journey operated by another carrier and with a travel document issued by the latter, the carriage will be refunded. regulated according to the GTC of the actual carrier. 8.1 In the event of delay in departure, the Passenger is in any case guaranteed the rights and assistance provided for by articles 16, 17 and 18 of EU Regulation no. 1177/2010, subject to the exemptions pursuant to article 20 of the same Regulation. 8.2 In the event of a delay in arrival at the port of destination, the Passenger is in any case guaranteed the rights and assistance provided for by articles 16, 17 and 18 of EU Regulation no. 1177/2010, subject to the exemptions pursuant to art. 20 of the same Regulation: economic compensation equal to 25% of the ticket price for a delay of at least: i. two (2) hours on a regular service of between four and eight hours duration; ii. three (3) hours on a regular service of eight to twenty-four hours duration; iii. six (6) hours on a regular service exceeding twenty-four hours. If the delay exceeds double the time indicated above, the financial compensation is paid. up to 50% of the ticket price 8.3 In the event of cancellation of a journey, or of an extended delay, passengers are entitled to refreshments and meals in reasonable relation to their waiting time. These provisions are applicable in relation to the duration of the expected delay and the distance from the port of destination. In addition, the actual carrier will arrange for it. to hotel accommodation (or accommodation on board a moored ship) if necessary, as well as transport from the port to the place of accommodation. Passengers will be informed by the carrier of the arrangements in relation to obtaining refreshments, transport and hotel accommodation (or on board another vessel). 8.4 The Captain, for the cases provided for by the Navigation Code and for the cases of objective necessity, must and/or force majeure, has the full right to to proceed without a pilot, to tow and assist other vessels in any circumstances, to deviate from the ordinary course in any direction, for any distance and for any purpose attributable to his duties as Master, as well as; as required by the Navigation Code and by International Conventions, and in this sense to touch, both before and after departure, any port or ports whether or not they are on the ship's itinerary, even if in the opposite direction or beyond the usual route, either backwards or forwards in any order for any purpose, one or more times, to transfer the Passenger and the vehicle to any other vessel or means of transport, whether or not belonging to the Company, bound for the port of destination. 8.5 The carrier declines all responsibility; for damages caused to the Passenger by the delay or non-execution of the transport if the event derives from unforeseeable circumstances, force majeure, adverse weather and sea conditions, strikes and technical failures constituting force majeure or other causes not attributable to it and in any case in compliance pursuant to articles 402, 403, 404 and 408 of the Navigation Code and EU Regulation no. 1177/2010. 8.6 To submit a complaint relating to travel inconvenience, delays and/or cancellations, or a request for compensation, the Customer may contact Grandi Navi Veloci by completing the appropriate online form on the website www.gnv.it in the “Complaints” section. Alternatively, applicants can write to Grandi Navi Veloci SpA, Customer Care, via Balleydier, 7 - 16149 Genoa (Italy) or by fax to n° fax 0039 010 55 09 302. The person submitting the request must be one of the passengers. Applicants must provide their name and contact details, ticket number and details of the journey concerned. Compensation requests can only concern the people indicated in the reservation itself. 8.6.1 Cargo, vehicle and passenger injury claims are handled by the Legal, Litigation & Insurance companies to which interested parties can write to Grandi Navi Veloci SpA, Legal Department, Litigation & Assicurazioni, via Balleydier, 7 - 16149 Genova (Italy) or send them by fax to n° fax +39 010 5509336. Passengers are also informed that each Member State has designated one or more bodies responsible for the implementation of Regulation 1177/2010 (site http://www.autorita-trasporti.it /) 8.7 The rights of the Passenger in relation to a delay and/or a request for compensation lapse if they are not exercised and presented to the the Customer Care office of the carrier within two months from the date on which it was received; the service was or should have been performed. Art. 9 EMBARKATION AND DISEMBARKATION OF VEHICLES: the vehicles will be called for embarkation in the order that will be given. ordered by the Master of the vessel and/or by his auxiliaries and supervisors. Vehicle embarkation operations, including their accommodation in the assigned place on board (each vehicle must be parked with the handbrake on and the gear engaged), disembarkation operations as well as any transfer of the vehicle from the parking space to the ship and/or any transfer of the vehicle from the ship to the parking space are always carried out at the care, risk and responsibility of the shipper. exclusive to the Passenger, except for any cases of proven defect in the state of the places/ship. During embarkation/disembarkation, only drivers will have access to the garage; the other passengers will have to board and disembark from the appropriate pedestrian accesses. In the event of non-compliance, the Company does not accept liability; for any damage to property or persons. The vehicle, including any trailer and/or caravan, with what is contained therein, is accepted by the carrier as a single unit; of cargo without declaration of value. Therefore, any liability may not apply. of the carrier for loss and/or damage to the vehicle cannot exceed the limit set forth in art. 423 of the Navigation Code, except for any hypotheses of liability; due to willful misconduct or gross negligence. The Passenger who intends to declare the value of the accompanying vehicle must formalize it in writing before booking; the cost of transporting the vehicle will be depending on the declared value. During the booking phase, the Passenger must declare the correct measurements (all out; for example including luggage on the roof), the type of your vehicle and the license plate; in the event that what is declared is not compliant, a refund will be given. payment of the relative tariff differences envisaged and “fee” for ticket modification. The Company reserves the right not to embark vehicles that do not comply with what was declared at the time of booking in the event of unavailability; adequate ship garage spaces. Vehicles powered by LPG and methane must be reported to the staff upon boarding. They will be parked in an ad hoc section in the ferry garage.
Art. 10 RULES TO BE OBSERVED BY THE PASSENGER: the Passenger is required to observe the provisions of Italian and international laws, and the General Conditions of Passenger Transport (CGTP) published on the website www.gnv.it and in any case displayed at GNV points of sale, as well as the instructions given by the Master of the vessel. Furthermore, the Passenger is responsible directly to the Company; of all contraventions, harassment, fines and expenses to which, due to him, the Company is subjected by the authorities; port, customs, health and/or by any other authority; of any country. In the event of an emergency, the Passengers must make themselves available to the Captain and the Officers and must comply with the orders and instructions they receive in a disciplined manner. The above, without prejudice to the fact that the GNV Company reserves the right to sue the passenger who is responsible for the aforementioned behaviors if they constitute criminal or disciplinary offenses, according to the applicable law. 10.1 The passenger also undertakes to comply with the provisions of the maritime Carrier which prohibit smoking in the internal rooms of the ship, suitably marked. 10.2 Passengers are required, at their own care, expense and liability; to verify, before boarding, the suitability of the of their identity documents; and those relating to any accompanying vehicles, at the Authorities; of Police in charge, in order to ascertain that they are suitable for entry into the country of disembarkation and valid. The company will not refund the amount. those Passengers not authorized by the Border Police and/or by the company itself to embark or disembark, as found with documents not suitable for expatriation; the company reserves the right to retaliate against the Passenger for any costs and/or penalties that it may receive as a result of the aforementioned circumstances. The Passenger is liable for all damages, in any case caused by him or by people or animals in his care, to the ship's furnishings, its appurtenances and accessories, to its equipment, as well as to other Passengers, the Carrier's employees or auxiliaries of the latter. If the passenger on board jeopardizes the safety of the journey, disturbs other passengers and the crew or behaves in any way in such a way as to cause them discomfort, hinders the crew in carrying out their duties, does not comply with the provisions of the Captain of the ship and the responsible for him in terms of correct behavior on board or compliance with procedures; it will be able to be subject to the measures necessary to prevent or limit such behaviour, including any coercive measures within the limits of the provisions of the law, as well as upon disembarkation or refusal to continue the carriage. Grandi Navi Veloci reserves the right to not to embark on its ships anyone who had adopted on previous occasions/journeys conduct in violation of the provisions of paragraph 10.4 of the General Conditions of Passenger Transport (CGTP) in force.
Art 11 TRANSPORT OF UNACCOMPANIED MINORS: Passengers aged children under 14 cannot travel alone. They must be constantly supervised by their parents and/or adults who have custody of them and cannot circulate on the ship without being accompanied. In no case will the Carrier be responsible for damages occurring to minors in violation of the above.
